Wing Vilma is a name Milly Coleman has been using since 2017, and has become a major part of her persona since its inception. First captured on the 2018 album Safe By Night, the Grand Rapids-born artist creates music by harvesting found sound from real areas of the Michigan landscape and crafting percussive sequences along with melodic textures.

Having recently relocated to Portland OR, her trademark sound stems from her feverish curiosity and a cultivated, intentional connection with the natural world that empowers her to find musical ideas in places others may not.

Her album, aptly titled Spirit Practice, is a major step forward. It's a multi-layered chronicle of transformation and self-discovery told through a collection of meticulously crafted songs, each as technically fastidious as it is evocative and stirring. The single "Bridges" has an unmistakable tropical bounce, while at the same time paying homage to elements of the golden age of Warp Records.
